Prayer Update – July 12, 2019

Junior One Completed!

Hi Everyone,

What an amazing week! The campers had a blast, the weather was great all week and God did some amazing things!  Thank you so much for praying for this week of camp.  Not one single camper went home because of homesickness or injury!  We had a few kids that were homesick, but they stuck it out and had a fantastic week!

Glenda did an amazing job speaking in chapel and sharing the Gospel.  She spoke about conquering the fear in our lives, and that Jesus died and rose again to save us. We only need to come to him when we feel anxious or afraid.  God was doing a mighty work and we had 39 campers make commitments this week!  Praise the Lord!  Keep praying for these campers that God would give them opportunities to continue growing.

Junior Hi One Begins

Sunday, July 14 starts our next week of camp.  We have 94 campers ages 12-14 registered for camp.  The schedule will look pretty much the same as this week although the campers are older.

Our support staff for the week are:

LITs: Jayne Waterhouse, Madison Thompson, Jill Thompson, Jorja Liddle, Emilie Ferre, Taryn Smith, Matt Hoess, Skyler Knudtson, Sam Kuperis, Aiden Hergott

Cooks: Lindsey Zacharias, Arlene Schmidt, Rachelle Gitzel, and Charity Dmytruk

Nurse: Judy Regie

Maintenance & Custodial: Russ & Marty Harris

Grandparents: Winston and Janet South

Our speaker this week is Jason Hodge.  This is Jason's 1st summer speaking at Stoney.  He is a Pastor at the Martensville Alliance Church.  He and his wife have two children.  Pray that he would be able to connect well with the campers and that God would speak through him to the hearts of the campers.

Prayer Requests

There are several general but HUGE prayer requests that we have for the whole summer:

  • Praise for the campers who made first time commitments! Pray for them that they would have opportunity to learn how to grow as they go home.
  • Health and safety of the campers and staff.
  • We still have room for more campers.  Pray that God would fill the camp and we would have more opportunities to share the Gospel.
  • Pray that God would work in the staff's lives as they work with the campers, that they would rely on God for everything they need especially as the weeks go on and they get tired.

Thank you so much for your prayers! We appreciate your commitment to upholding Stoney in prayer!
