Prayer Update – July 9, 2021

Junior One Completed!

Hi Everyone,

What an amazing week! The campers had a blast, the weather was great all week and God did some amazing things!  Thank you so much for praying for this week of camp. God worked in the hearts of so many campers and our cabin leaders and LIT's this week. We had a blast getting to know these campers and having fun with all the activities and games we did. We had a few kids who were homesick, and we did have one camper go home this week.

Glenda did an amazing job speaking in chapel and sharing the Gospel. Our theme verse this summer is Ephesians 5:1 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children."  Glenda spoke about the armour of God, highlighting each piece of armour. The campers were very attentive and learned how we can look to the Bible to learn how to live our lives for Him. As I stated above, God worked in the hearts of our campers and we had many campers make commitments this week! We also had some LIT's make re commitments this week as well!  Praise the Lord!  Keep praying for these campers that God would place people in their lives to encourage them in their walk with Jesus.

Junior Hi One Begins

Sunday, July 11 starts our next week of camp.  We have 73 campers ages 12-14 registered for camp.  The schedule will look pretty much the same as this week although the campers are older. One praise item: WE DON'T HAVE TO WEAR MASKS! Praise God! The campers and cabin leaders did a fantastic job wearing them in our buildings this past week, but we are excited to get rid of them! If campers are more comfortable wearing them, they can wear them, but it is no longer mandatory.

Our support staff for the week are:

LITs: Ella McLean, Abbie Cannon, Zara Young, Harris Kellington, Ben Francois, Jack Graham, Joshua Schmidt, Ryan Hoess

Cooks: Arlene Schmidt, Donna Stephen, Heather Friedt

Maintenance & Custodial: Russ & Marty Harris

Volunteers: Myra Schmidt

Our speaker this week is Geoff Lucas.  This is Geoff's 1st summer speaking at Stoney. Geoff lives in St. Gregor with his wife and their 5 children. He has been a student at Nipawin Bible College this past year, and he loves to tell young people about God's love and truth for their lives. Please pray for Geoff as he seeks God's leading and speaks His words to the campers this week.

Corn Maze Family Days

We are planning to have our Corn Maze Family Days this year! Please stay tuned for more information about these days. We are hoping to have all the details for you by the end of next week, so you can plan! Typically we hold these days in September on Sundays.

We missed seeing you all last summer for the Corn Maze, we hope to see you this year!

Prayer Requests

There are several general but HUGE prayer requests that we have for the whole summer:

  • Praise for the campers who made first time commitments! Pray for them that they would have opportunity to learn how to grow as they go home.
  • Health and safety of the campers and staff. Pray that none of our campers would have problems with homesickness.
  • We still have room for more campers.  Pray that God would fill the camp and we would have more opportunities to share the Gospel. We have lots of room in our Junior Hi camps, Work Crew Session 3, and Teen Camp. There are spots also available in Junior 2 & 3, and Squirt camp.
  • Pray that God would work in our staff's lives as they work with the campers, that they would rely on God for everything they need especially as the weeks go on and they get tired. Pray that they would get the rest that they need each weekend.

Thank you so much for your prayers! We appreciate your commitment to upholding Stoney in prayer!
