Hi Everyone,
It was another beautiful week of weather that God blessed us with and with a jammed packed full camp, the campers were able to enjoy a week of hanging out at the beach! We were full to the brim with 131 campers and our staff did amazing keeping them all organized and on schedule! This week we saw our new barn open and campers and staff alike enjoyed the goats, pot-bellied pig and piglets and chickens as well as climbing up to the loft to hang out! Tizzy’s Tower was once again a huge hit this week and it will be going non-stop this afternoon as we enjoy a field and beach day to close off this week of camp (watch for video footage of the events on Facebook!)
Jodi Taylor, our speaker this week, did a great job for her first time speaking to such a big number of campers. She was a bit nervous but shared the Gospel with the campers and even had them doing sword drills each chapel session to follow along with where she was teaching from (a race challenge where campers try to find a passage in the Bible as quickly as possible). Jodi had to leave on Wednesday for her grandmother’s funeral and so Jaime Schreiner (Junior 1 speaker) filled in for a few sessions. The two ladies had coordinated beforehand and the change in speakers went very smoothly – the campers enjoyed both styles of speaking! There have been 5 campers so far that have accepted Christ and the cabin leaders have shared that there are several campers that are very interested. Pray for those cabin leaders and campers that they would have opportunities to talk this afternoon and that the Holy Spirit would work in the hearts of the campers to turn them to Jesus.
JUNIOR HI TWO:
Next week, Aug 13-18, is another week of ages 12-14 and we have 108 campers registered. These campers are bigger in size so it will feel as full as this week in the dining hall! The schedule will once again be very similar to this week but Kaitlin, our program director, may throw in some fun extras!

Our speaker this week is Luke Bergmann. This is Luke’s first time speaking at Stoney. Luke and Rachelle have only been in Tisdale for a year where Luke is the associate pastor at Tisdale Alliance Church and he and his wife, Rachelle, have a lot of energy and will connect well with the campers and staff. They are expecting their first child sometime this fall. Pray that he would be able to speak confidently and connect well with the campers and the Gospel message would be heard and accepted by those campers who have never heard before as well as those who have been coming to Stoney for years but have never made Jesus real in their lives.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
As the summer begins to wind to a close (only 2 more weeks left of camp!), pray for the staff that they will continue strong these last weeks. Pray for much energy and that they would rely on God’s strength and trust Him for all they need to not just endure and make it through but to serve with joy and a fresh passion!
Pray for Val Weber, our head cook for the past 3 months. She will be getting married on Aug 19 here at Stoney and today is her last day at camp 😥 . Pray for a good week of preparation before her wedding and that her wedding day would be a good day for the couple and for guests.
These next two weeks of camp are our older campers and many have been coming to Stoney for many years. Pray that they would be listening to the Holy Spirit and that their hearts would be willing to turn to Jesus, either for the first time or to take their commitment to him more seriously.

There are still spots available in the next 3 camps: Junior Hi 2 (Aug 13-18), Teen (Aug 20-26) and Stoney Xtreme (Aug 26-28 for ages 16+). Also, JOY camp is coming up on Sept 1-3. This is a weekend for those “Just Older Youth” ages 60+ to enjoy the camp and visit with new and old friends. The schedule is relaxed with lots of time to enjoy God’s creation and hear His word through the messages of Ivan Friesen. If you are interested in attending, call the camp to register (306-873-5537).
